With two new gyms opening at Marina Square, it’s the perfect opportunity to start a new exercise habit.
Starting a new fitness regime isn’t easy. Studies have shown that it takes up to 21 days to start a new habit and stick to it. We’ve created a guide to help you breeze through your first three weeks at 12 RND Fitness or Anytime Fitness.
If this is your first time at a gym or you’re returning after a break from exercise, it’s important to set yourself small and realistic goals that you can achieve. Each little win will keep you coming back day after day.
Mix it up
Some people swear by their morning workout while others will only train after the sun goes down. Don’t be afraid to exercise at different times when you’re starting out. Even if you’re not a morning person, watching the sunrise over Wentworth Point as you run on the treadmill could be enough motivation to get you out of bed and in the gym.
Try different activities
With two very different gyms at Wentworth Point, you can try a range of activities to get your fitness fix. From power lifting at Anytime Fitness to high-impact boxing classes at 12 RNDs, it’s important to find the workout that works for you. After all, it’s much easier to turn up for things that you love.
Get a gym buddy
Everything is better with a friend. Laughing over gym stories or catching up for a post workout coffee can be enough to keep you motivated in the beginning. If you prefer to work out solo that’s ok too. Visiting the gym can be a great opportunity to enjoy some me-time.
Take 21 days or more
Many people say it takes a minimum of 21 days to start a habit. For some people, it may take even longer. So, it’s important to keep turning up and sticking to your routine until they become part of your routine.
It’s easier if you keep setting and hitting (realistic) goals. Share your fitness goals with us online, we’d love to see pictures of you enjoying the Marina Square gyms. Just don’t forget to tag @MarinaSquareWP.
