Wentworth Point is one on the Sydney’s fastest growing suburbs with flourishing and vibrant local community.
To celebrate the opening of Marina Square shopping centre, we are calling for expressions of interest from Wentworth Point residents to participate in a temporary community art space within the centre, MSQ Art Space.
MSQ Art Space will feature a selection of landscape photographs from accomplished local residents Charles Cheng and Henry Zeng, and we are looking to complement the exhibition with works by other local Wentworth Point residents.
Who can participate?
Participation in the MSQ Art Space is open to all residents of Wentworth Point.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking photos, drawings or paintings.
When do I need to submit?
Applications are open between 15th and 26th October 2018. Spaces are limited so get in quick.
What’s the selection process?
This will depend on the number of submissions.
The final selection of the pieces for display will be made by members of the Marina Square project team.
How do I submit an expression of interest?
Enter via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
A complete entry will include:
- Your contact details
- A thumbnail image of your art piece
- A brief summary of your art piece
- The size of your art piece (including frame)
Entries must also include a brief paragraph with details of the artist and a synopsis of the art piece including, where taken, the medium used and the sale price if you intend to sell your piece.
How many pieces can I enter?
There is a limit of one piece per artist.
Can I sell my art?
Yes, you will be able to sell your art piece – although we are asking that you agree to donate 10% of the proceeds to go to the Wentworth Point Public School P&C to help with fundraising.
Alternatively, you can simply display your art and collect it at the end of the exhibition.
What else do I need to know?
Selected art must be ready to hang (ideally framed with a timber or black and white frame) and will need to be delivered to Marina Square Shopping Centre between the 5th of November and the 12th November 2018.
How long will items be displayed?
The MSQ Art Space will run from 21 November 2018, to mid-January 2019. We will be changing the display every 3 weeks to enable more art pieces to be displayed.
All art pieces submitted need to be family friendly. Rude or offensive images will not be considered.
